Being in the moment is fine however a comedic creative person takes in moments yet always keeps sight on a bigger perhaps more twisted picture. ~dojo

Comedy is about being human. You must be incredibly human to perform it. ~dojo

Comedy is not about stuff, it's about seeing through stuff. It's about playing what if with stuff. It's about associating stuff with other stuff. Stuff is just so much clay in stand up comedy. ~dojo

Good comedy is often about the big picture or at least a different picture. It's about experiencing life in a full 4 D, that's 3 D with a creative 'what if' D willingness and freedom to change the picture. ~dojo

Comedians inhale life and exhale laughs, we can't help it.~dojo

Being a serious writer is mandatory for being a serious comic.
Most will find that getting on stage and 'just seeing what happens' is inadequate to real development. ~dojo

The more willingness to change the better the comedy. ~dojo

Comedy must appeal to the intellect. ~dojo

Great comedy is often about that which is simple and familiar. ~dojo
